LUSK - Lusk Community for Kids group received the 2024 Wyoming Education Association of Education Award at the Wyoming Education Association’s (WEA) 92nd annual Delegate Assembly Awards Banquet on March 16 in Casper.

LUSK - On March 13, the Masons of Harmony Lodge #24 hosted the Mustard Seed Dinner. They served prime rib sandwiches, chips and dessert bars. All donations they received were set aside for scholarships and medical assistance funds.

LUSK – U.S. Senate hopeful Reid Rasner appeared at the Thursday night meeting of the Niobrara County GOP (Grand Old Party). A fourth generation Wyomingite, Rasner is seeking to unseat physician and U.S. Senator John Barrasso. Barrasso has held the Wyoming Senate seat since 2007. Rasner took some time to speak with the Herald, laying out an agenda that he says distinguishes him from his opponent.

LUSK-Niobrara County High School Speech and Debate team will be heading to their state competitions this weekend. NIOBRARA – The Niobrara County Cattlewomen cel- ebrated their Christmas party on December 13 with mem- bers and a guest speaker, the president of the Wyoming Cattlewomen, Tani Wohlbrandt. The stated goal of the Niobrara County Cattlewomen has been the positive promotion of beef.

Tis the season to be shopping for friends and family! And, there was no shortage of homemade crafts, cuisines, and other holiday items at the Niobrara County Christmas Bazaar on Friday and Saturday. Sponsored by the Niobrara County Homemakers, this annual holiday event allows sundry vendors to display and sell their wares at the local Fairgrounds. According to Homemakers Secretary and Chairwoman of the Bazaar Donna Hanson, the event began in 1986 and, with the exception of the dark years of the pandemic, has grown ever since. On average, the Bazaar draws between 60 and 70 vendors every holiday season. Hanson stated that Lusk has always enthusiastically embraced this beloved Christmas tradition.

LUSK - According to dispatch data, the first 911 call came in at 2136 on Saturday, October 14, from a bus driver south of Lusk on 85 reporting that the bus he was driving in the north bound lane full of college football players was on fire.
