LUSK – On Tuesday, February 20, Lusk Elementary/Middle School (LEMS) students in grades 5-8 participated in the Niobrara County School District #1 spelling bee.
All students in grades 5-8 completed a written spelling test and the top five from each grade level competed in the oral spelling bee that took place on the 20th.
The winners from the Bee are: Paris Valencia (1st place - 5th grader), Braxton Hodge (2nd place - 6th grader), Nic Lytle (3rd place, 6th grader), Charity Musico (4th place - 8th grader), Jaci Vetter (5th place - 8th grader), and Aspen Vierli (alternate - 7th grader). Aspen Vierli will attend in the place of Jaci Vetter at the state spelling bee on Saturday, March 16.
