TORRINGTON – Niobrara County High School freshman Addisyn Bauersachs competed in the first all class girls East Conference regional last weekend at Willi Gym. The 135 pounder lost in the first period to Campbell County’s Karlie Balfanz. In a consolation round she faced Avery VanGundy from Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast. VanGundy eliminated Bauersachs with a first period pin.

DAYTON – Senior Tiger Kort Bannan moved up to the 285 pound weight class at the boys East regionals last Saturday. He was matched up against Hulett’s undefeated Christian Reilly, and the Red Devil pinned Bannan quickly. In the consolation match for third place, Glenrock’s Gene Hershley outlasted Bannan in a third period pin. Bannan qualified for the 2A State tournament and first match will be Friday morning.

Kadyn McCully also qualified for state in the 144 pound bracket after falling to Tongue River’s Kaden Hill in the second period and LFL/SE’s Wyatt Gladson late in the first. He also opens state Friday morning, against Greybull’s Reece Whisenant.
