LUSK – The Lusk Tigers are bringing the game back to their own territory on Friday, Sept. 23. With a week full of fun activities planned district-wide and including the community fans are encouraged to attend as many as possible and come out to support the Lusk Tigers.

Monday Sept. 19 was Maverick Monday. Students and staff in all the district buildings were encouraged to bring on their best Top Gun style with aviators, leather jackets and military dress. The kick-off pep assembly was held at the high school football field. Homecoming hijinks and fun ensued with students serenading to “Great Balls of Fire” and “You’ve lost that lovin’ feeling”. Class contests were held for a mat roll and other activities. A “fly over” even happened for “Maverick Monday”.

Tuesday Sept. 20 was Stunt Double Tuesday with students and staff encouraged to “twin” with a friend or group. The activity night for the high school sponsored by student clubs and organizations was held in the bus barn at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday has the red carpet being rolled out for those who dare to wear their best black tie outfits for Black Tie Wednesday. Homecoming parade to start at 6:45 p.m. at the train station and ending at the HS football field for another pep assembly. The entire community is invited to participate in the parade and make sure you bring your kids out to watch. The pep assembly is for the entire community.

As the week rolls into Thursday expect to see throwback outfits from every decade. This time the grade school kids are getting involved with the activities with a tug-a-war with the seniors at LES at 1:20 p.m. Another high school activity night will be held at the high school from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Tailgating will start at 1 p.m. at the high school parking lot on Friday, Sept. 23. Fall sports teams will be there to meet and greet. Volleyball begins at 3 p.m. and football at 6 p.m. Bring your favorite tailgating food and turn out in your best tiger gear for an after and evening of fun and sports.

Saturday kicks off with a volleyball tournament at 9 a.m. and concludes with the homecoming dance for students at the country club from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
