Healthcare heroes in Niobrara county

LUSK - “Quality health care close to home” is the motto of the Niobrara County Hospital District. The hospital is a combination of a long-term care facility, emergency department, and rural health clinic.

The hard work and dedication are appreciated by administration and the board, this week helped showcase that appreciation. CEO Dana Gilleland states, “We wanted to take a moment and thank all the employees at NCHD that make healthcare possible here in Lusk.” The hospital celebrated Hospital Week and Nurse's Appreciation Week the week of May 8. The hospital worked hard to provide support and appreciation to all employees.

Activities started with "We Donut what we would do without you Monday" and a Taco Tuesday bar and Wednesday was "We need Smore employees like you". Employees received gifts and cards along with meals and snacks throughout the week. They wrapped up the activities with Superhero Thursday and then an employee appreciation lunch catered on Friday May 12. The employees at NCHD are what make it possible to provide great healthcare to the community of Lusk and the district is proud to honor them and give back.

Several initiatives and programs at the hospital have started that will begin to show noticeable results in the coming months including a 5 Star Facility Customer service program. As the facility works to ensure they provide the best service possible, please stop by and let them know if there is anything else they can do to improve your healthcare experience here at NCHD. Administration is looking forward to expanding and adding service lines that will be rolled out in the coming summer months so please look for announcements on social media or in the Lusk Herald as they strive to provide more services for the community.
