Kathy Dobson has had a passion for animals all of her life and she has recently been able to indulge that passion as the new Animal Control Officer (ACO). Dobson assumed her newly acquired duties in this position on the first of March. Yet, Dobson is no stranger to the Animal Shelter. She has been volunteering as a helper for the last few years, caring for animals that have been held there and helping to find good homes for them.
Dobson spent two-and-half years as a volunteer at the Lusk Animal Shelter. She would take dogs for walks and spend time with the cats. In addition, she would feed and clean up after any animals that were kenneled or held there.
When Dobson heard that the position of Animal Control Officer was open again, she decided that it was time to move forward and apply. “It didn’t make any sense to sit and wait for someone else to do what God had called me to do,” Dobson said.
