At the boys basketball team dinner Monday night, coaches Rich Murray and Ryan Nelson handed out team awards to the Tigers.
The varsity had four players- Hunter Dockery, Matt VandeBossche, Denton Shaw and Derick VandeBossche named to the 2A Southeast region and the All-SEWAC teams. Dockery and Shaw were also named to the 2A All State team, it being the second time for Dockery.
Matt won the FG percent award and defensive award while earning a white letter for four years of being on the varsity team. Denton won the free throw percent award while Derick was the top rebounder. The fifth starter, sophomore Logan Lamar won the handle award (ast+st/to) with the second highest in school history. His 4.0 is second only to Bret Zowada’s 4.32 in the 99-00 season. In a meeting with head coaches of all classes, the Wyoming Coaches Association voted Hunter to the South team for this year’s North-South all star game in July.
The JV gave awards to Jacob Robinson field goal percent and top rebounder, while twin Justin was most improved. Taten Gaukel had the highest free throw percent and Alex Starkey won the handle award. Monte Wade won the defensive player of the year.
On the C squad Garrett Dixon was the top rebounder and defensive player. Eli Wagner was the free throw percent winner while James Blackburn won the handle award. David Seaman was most improved and Chico Cole had the highest field goal percent.
