LEMS Lady Tigers Stay Strong Through Tough Week of Volleyball Action

The Lusk Middle School Volleyball teams started their volleyball week out with home matches against Guernsey on Thursday. The Viking team came out strong and put the Tigers down by a score of 18-25. In the second set the Tigers gained some momentum and soundly beat the Vikings by a score of 25-9. Finally in the third in a hard fought game the Lady Tigers were defeated by a score 23-25. Captains for the match were Jalyn McDaniels and Emma Ceaglske. Trisha Hales served 18 points with 9 ace points.

On Saturday, September 28th the LMS Tigers hosted their annual quad with the Guernsey Vikings, Southeast Cyclones, and Lingle Ft. Laramie Doggers in attendance. The first match for the LMS Tigers was against the Lingle Ft. Laramie Doggers. The Lady Tigers came out on top in 3 games by scores of 23-25, 25-14, and 15-13. Miranda Gilkey and Reygan Molzahn were tied for high point serving honors with 10 points each. Makayla Waldock and Reygan Molzahn were captains for the match. Next up for the LMS Lady Tigers was the Southeast Cyclones. The Tiger team came out strong and united winning in 2 sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-20. Serving was strong for all the Lady Tigers, but Emma Ceaglske was the high point server serving 10 points with 4 aces. Captains for this match were Trisha Hales and Amanda Smith. Finally the LMS Tiger 8th grade team squared off against the Lady Viking for the final match of the day. The Lady Tigers won the final match by scores of 25-18 and 25-20 to remain undefeated on the day. Captains of this match were Miranda Gilkey and Meghan Molzahn. High point server was Trisha Hales with 8 points. Thank-you to all the parents and community members who helped with the line judging and score keeping at the Tiger quad.

Thursday the 26th, the 6th and 7th grade girls played at home against Guernsey. The Tigers gained another victory in 3 sets with scores of 25-6, 11-25, and 25-21. Captains of the game were Taylor Gaukel and Lucy Ceaglske. The top server of the game was Taylor Gaukel scoring 15 points.

Saturday the 28th of September our girls hosted the Lusk Quad. Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Guernsey, and Southeast traveled to Lusk. The 6th and 7th grade girls played against Lingle in the first game and won in 3 sets with scores of 25-5, 22-25, and 15-11. The top server of the game was Sadie Sturman scoring 14 points.

The girls played against Southeast in the next game, winning in 3 sets. The scores were 25-23, 24-26, and 18-16. The top servers of that game were Ashley Christianson with 12 points, Sophia Burton with 9 points, and Kianna Blackburn with 7 points.

The girls ended the day with another defeat over Guernsey. The game went to 3 sets with scores of 25-6, 25-27, and 15-6. The top server was Taylor Gaukel with 15 points.
