Since the announcement of her resignation at a meeting of Board of Education last Monday, speculation concerning departing Lusk Elementary-Middle School (LEMS) Principal Jennifer Figenser has begun to percolate. Brewing within that speculative stew is the assertion that Figenserís departure was motivated by conflict surrounding an abortive bid by her husband for the superintendent position of Niobrara County School District (NCSD) #1.
More specifically, the contention (which is printed on page A6 of this edition of The Lusk Herald) holds that Figenserís husband was denied the opportunity to apply for this lofty position and that the LEMS principal is resigning in response to this denial. However, present Superintendent Richard Luchsinger stated that Figenserís resignation was motivated chiefly by the fact that her family currently resides in Sheridan, where her husband is the Principal of Big Horn Elementary School.
