Chiefs Await Tigers After Third Place Finish

It wasn’t the trophy NCHS wanted when they left for the 2A East Regionals last weekend in Dayton, but the Tigers qualified for state by claiming third place with a pair of wins over Pine Bluffs and Burns on Saturday.

Thursday’s opening round game was a rematch with Wright from the week before and with senior point guard Newt Starr back the Panthers are a different team. The game was tied at 11 after one quarter and again at 27 at halftime. Kevin Christianson kept NCHS in the game with 11 of his 15 points coming in the frame.
