Opening day of the Middle School Boys Basketball saw the 7th Grade Lusk Tigers easily defeat the Guernsey Vikings 16-7 in a condensed 2 quarter game in Guernsey Tuesday night.
The Tigers led the game from the opening tap to the finish. The game was close in the first quarter with Lusk holding a slight 8-6 lead but they outscored the Vikings in the second quarter 8-1 thanks to a great team defensive effort.
The Tigers played a great game for their first game and displayed a great defensive presence as well as out-rebounding the Vikings. Leading all scorers was Kaydan Jackson with 8 points, followed by Ryan Gilkey with 4, and Caleb Kremers and Gunnar Eaton each contributing 2 points apiece.
The Lusk 8th Graders played their first games of the season last week. They first took on the Vikings of Guernsey on Tuesday losing that game 16-32. Scoring for the Tigers were Monte Wade-5, James Blackburn-4, Riley Ross-3, Isaiah Richardson-2, and Aaron Midkiff-2.
