Emergency Preparedness Drill hosted by WWC

LUSK - As a continuation of Governor Mead table top completed in January 2012 that caused conversation on how Niobrara County would respond to natural disasters, mass casualty or any other incidents. Coordination of this drill started with a small group, Sheriff Rick Zerbe, Police Chief Sean Dreesen, Mayor Pat Smith, Lusk Ambualance Director Cory Wilcox, Fire Chief John Eddy, Niobrara Health & Life Center Maintenance Supervisor Jim Tangney, Lt. Clayton Coon and Sgt. Thomas Dering. They decided that only the people in the room would have knowledge of this drill and the importance to see how emgerency response is tested to fix any issues or capitalize on things that are done well. On Oct. 22 and 23 Niobrara County conducted a full scale drill that involved 13 different agencies and over 200 emergency response personnel form as far away as Sheridan Wyoming.
