LUSK - A 68-year-old man died at the scene of a Sunday afternoon crash 11 miles south of Manville.
Gerald R. Hahn of San Juan Capistrano was killed in a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 270. According to a report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, for unknown reasons, Hahn’s vehicle went off the roadway on the right side. Hahn had apparently overcorrected the vehicle’s steering to the left, causing the vehicle to come back on the roadway and to go into a broadside slide. The vehicle rolled 1 3/4 times and came to a rest on the driver’s side in the northbound lane.
Hahn was wearing a seat belt, but was partially ejected through the driver’s side window during the rollover.
The crash caused the temporary closure of Route 270 until WHP Troopers could complete their on-scene investigation and clear the crash.
