Lytle inducted in Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame

CHADRON, NE - Doug Lytle, a 1993 graduate of Niobrara County High School, was inducted into the Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 27. He is shown with his wife, Kayte, and their children, Addison, 1 month, and Nicholas, 17 months. They live in Aurora, Colo. Lytle earned four letters as a lineman for CSC football teams and also excelled in track and field. When he concluded his college career in 1998, he held the Eaglesí records in the shot put, both indoors and outdoors, the weight throw, the hammer throw and the discus. He was named the outstanding male athlete at the 1996 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Meet after winning three throwing event. He also was a five-time All-American at NCAA Division II National Meets. He was a star in both football and track and was a state champion wrestler in high school. Among those attending his induction were Ron and Holly Nelson of Lusk. Doug made his home with the Nelsons while he was attending high school.

He is now the defensive coordinator for the Milwaukee Mustangs of the Arena Football League.
