The high school golf team saw their first action of the spring this weekend. Friday Lusk hosted Moorcroft, Sundance/Hulett, and Wright as a fill in tournament for Sundance because their course was still covered with snow. It was great to finally have good weather and get in some rounds in competition.

For the girls Amy Bergstrom led the way with a 97, Abbey Larson shot 101, Cherokee Hart shot 116, Caysea Hart shot a 129 and Sara Fahy shot 139.

The boys were led by Parker Pfister who fired a 92, Zack Stephens shot 100, Hika Nishida shot 112 and in their first rounds in competition Jacob Robinson shot 136 and Wyatt Eaton came in with a round of 148.

Saturday the Tigers travelled to Moorcroft to play in their first full tournament of the spring season. Several of our golfers improved their scores from the day before. The boys team finished in 5th place with a team score of 408. Moorcroft won with a dominating score of 331. Sundance/Hulett finished second with a score of 380, Tongue River was third at 382 followed by Big Horn at 397. Zack Stephens led our boys with a round of 96 followed by Hika Nishida at 99. Parker Pfister shot 100 and Jacob Robinson improved by 23 strokes from Friday firing a 113. Wyatt Eaton shot 148 to round out the scores.

Our girls team got off to a great start to their spring season with Abbey Larson leading the way firing a career low score in high school tournaments of 86 to finish 1st in the individual tournament. Kaci Jo Skrukrud also played well in her first action of the season shooting 92 to finish 3rd in the individual tournament. Amy Bergstrom had a very consistent weekend firing a 96 on Saturday which was good enough to place 4th in the individual tournament. Cherokee Hart also played well earning a top ten finish placing 9th with a round of 110. Sara Fahy improved by 18 strokes firing a 121 and Caysea Hart was right behind Sara with a round of 122.

The girls won the team title easily with a team score of 274. Big Horn finished 2nd with a score of 326 and Sundance/Hulett finished 3rd at 343.

This week the team will travel to Devilís Tower on Tuesday, followed by the Wright Invitational on Friday and then finishing the week at the Lusk Invitational on Saturday.
