The Southeast Lady Cyclones wasted little time in taking control of the game in Lusk last Friday night. The visitors jumped out to 7-0 lead before the Lusk girls got on the board. After one quarter the Lady Tigers were down 9-2, but caught a spark early in the second quarter. Hannah Shoults and Dani Dooper reeled off eight in a row to bring the Lady Tigers within 11-10 midway through the second but never got closer. Southeast took advantage of poor defense and a noticeable lack of fouls called at either end and led 24-13 at halftime.

Throughout the second half the Lady Cyclones extended the lead to 22 after three quarters and cruised to the 46-26 win over NCHS.

The Lady Tigers visited conference leader Burns on Saturday and kept the high scoring Lady Broncs close early. The lead was just 7-4 home team, but a scoreless second from NCHS doomed the Lady Tigers. Burns led 13-4 at the midway point.

Lusk kept scrapping with Burns in the second half but it wasn’t enough to overcome the lead Burns had already built up. Despite outscoring the Lady Broncs in the second half, NCHS came up on the short end 32-25.

The JV Lady Tigers played a pair of games over the weekend and after beating Southeast 35-29 Friday night, Lusk lost a close game in Burns by a 29-26 score. The C-squad lost in Burns by a 32-16 score.

The Lady Tigers host Lingle-Ft. Laramie for two games at 4 and 7 p.m. Friday night. Saturday they travel to Hot Springs, S.D. for three games starting at 11:30 a.m. before Edgemont, S.D. comes to Lusk for two games at 4 and 7 p.m. on Feb. 9.
