John C. Knight, 86, of Laramie died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Ivinson Memorial Hospital. He was born May 9, 1923 in Torrington, Wyo. the son of Earl Oliver and Mary Elma (Pierson) Knight. He received his schooling in Torrington and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He then attended the University of Wyoming for a couple of years before being employed by the U. S. Postal service as a clerk, retiring in 1988. He married Beverly Elwood in Laramie Jan. 12, 1963.

He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 582, the Husted-Pendleton American Legion Post No. 14, the Veterans for Foreign Wars Post No. 2221, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 390.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Karen and all of his siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly Knight of Laramie, WY; his daughters, Barbara Farmer of Laramie, Wyo.; Connie Baker and husband Dick of Lusk, Wyo.; a son Charles Knight of Sheridan, Wyo.; and his grandchildren, Cindy Wood and husband Chris, Tara Ross and husband Scott, Toni Gaukel and husband Kurt; and Ty Baker and wife Lynnette. Also surviving are several great grandchildren.
