Motivational speaker and self-help author Tony Robbins once declared, “Any time you sincerely want to make a change, the first thing you must do is to raise your standards.”
And, when it came to attaining national accreditation, raising standards was the central prerequisite for the Wyoming Women’s Center (WWC). Yet, even with the bar set at a daunting elevation, WWC passed an American Correctional Association (ACA) audit with 100 percent on all mandatory national accreditation standards.
In addition, WWC passed every non-mandatory standard that was conducive to the institution. Three of these non-mandatory standards could not be met because of the design and square footage of certain portions of the facility.
