LUSK - Watch for ads and information about the museum’s Heritage Day open house Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 3-6 p.m. You’ll see the improvements made to the buildings in the courtyard. We greatly appreciate Distinctive Homes, in particular Ryan Meng and Debbie Meng, for the additional volunteer work they did to spruce up the backyard.
A program of 15-minute historical presentations focusing on the late 19th century will begin shortly after 3 p.m. The following topics will be covered: Selections of period music on the piano and hymns on the old pump organ; the recently gifted Colt revolver; the foiled gold robbery; the saddle collection; a story of one of the oldest historical ranches still operated by descendants; and a day in the life of a woman homesteader.
In addition to all the fun, a silent auction will be held in the “picture room” with all proceeds going to the museum. New books will be for sale in the bookstore. Refreshments will be served. Please note that our new chairlift is in operation for those who cannot climb stairs. Mark your calendars for this event!
