Former Lusk resident Lanee Kupke is recovering in Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colo., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident the evening of Feb. 15.
Kupke was traveling north on I-25, about three miles north of Cheyenne when for unknown reasons the 2001 Dodge pickup she was driving went off the left hand side of the road, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Kupke then crossed to the right side of the road where the truck rolled 2 3/4 times.
She was transported the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where she spent four days in ICU. She was then transferred from CRMC to Craig Hospital on Feb. 25. Kupke sustained a serious concussion, lacerations to her forehead, a dislocated thumb and other bumps and bruises. She is expected to make a complete recovery within the coming weeks. Kupke was wearing her seatbelt, and no citations were issued, according to WHP. The daughter of David and Judy Bredthauer, Kupke is a 1987 graduate of Lusk High School and is currently employed by the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy in Douglas.
