Horsemanship club sponsors clinic

 On September 6 and 7 the Eastern Wyoming Natural Horsemanship Club sponsored a clinic with Sherry Jarvis, a clinician from Nebraska, at Patti and Bill Matthew's arena in Van Tassell.  Sherry had us work our horses from the ground in the morning exercise.  Everything we learned from the ground work would later transfer to under saddle in the afternoon.  We

Hat Creek Stage Station to be celebrated

LPD urges vigilance

On the afternoon of Sept. 3, Sargent Matt Smith and Officer Doug Lytle responded to a complaint of a stranger in the vicinity of LEMS. According to Lusk Police Dept. Chief Sean Dreesen, a third grade student reported the incident to their parents after school. The parents immediately reported the incident to the LPD.

NCD holds ribbon cutting ceremony

The Niobrara County Conservation District held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly constructed NCD building on Sept. 3. NCD District Manager, Lisa Shaw applied for and received a Wyoming State Loan and Investment Board Consensus Block Grant. The state board, which consists of the top five elected state officials, allocates these funds based on population, with larger municipalities

Richard and Lois Ladwig are looking ahead to greener pastures with the sale of their business, Niobrara Feed & Supply. As of Sept. 15 the business will be under new ownership and management. Ranchers Feed and Supply, Inc. from Edgemont, S.Dak. has purchased the business from the Ladwigs.
