The Niobrara County Health Fair will be held on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 from noon until 4 p.m. at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds Auditorium in Lusk.

The blood draw will take place at the Fairground meeting rooms from 6 a.m. until 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17 and Friday, Sept. 18. Mark these dates on your calendar. Be sure to watch your mailbox for more information. If you need transportation to the blood draw please call the Niobrara Senior Center at 334-2561 by Sept. 16 to make arrangements.

Proceeds from the Health Fair are used for health related items in the community as well as scholarships. In order to determine how to distribute the funds the committee is soliciting requests from various individuals and agencies in the community.

If your agency is in need or you know of an organization in need of items relating to healthcare and wellness, please submit a letter of request to Randi Ross, PO Box 612, Lusk, WY 82225 by Oct. 1, 2009. The results of the blood draw will be available for pick up at the Health Fair. It takes a lot of dedicated individuals for the Health Fair to be successful. The planning committee has been meeting for several months contacting agencies and organizations to participate. However, volunteers are needed to help with such things as registration, vision and hearing screenings, blood pressure readings, and weight and height measurements.

The Health Fair also depends on volunteers to help distribute pamphlets and information. If you are interested in helping at the Health Fair, please contact Randi Ross at 334-0107 or Claudia Bartow at 334-2190.
